That site focuses on the patent exam and there are a lot of knowledgable people who post often. : I have been studying for a few months now, with a month long break for my honeymoon. I've been using the patbar and IPE material. My study method is to review the IPE outline, create my own mini outline of the chapter, do the IPE workbook T/F and fill in the blank exercises and then work the chapter specific exam questions from the patbar material. : I completed chapters 100-700 and 2100. I found the material in Ch 700 to be the hardest to grasp. : -Brett : : Hi all: : : Didn't hear from anyone on their technique for studying so here's my take. : : Been cracking hard at this. Bought the Kayton course in May and started picking up the books in mid June. Going through all of the MPEP, the USC's, and material is lengthy. Best part of studying is picking up the Examware (which I highly recommend) and picking up tips and notes from others who have passed the test. : : I decided to do the course alternatively by studying the chapters by their probability of being on the test and working my way down to the chapters that are least likely to be on the test. Prof. Kayton gives a breakdown of this so I took that to heart and made a checklist/chart to check off the chapters done as I go along. I literally spend weekends away from my home and work so I can find a quiet place to study. Going through the tapes can take up several hours at a time so that "increases" the study time. One can spend almost a week on a given chapter. I haven't done Chapter 4 (35 USC section 102, Novelty, etc) but looking that the three tapes, the large Patent Practice Chapter, and the charts, that will be fairly lengthy. : : My way of studying is as follows: copy the notes given out for the charts, then view the accompanying video, skim read the Patent Practice (these damn chapters are very soperific and loooong) , and then do the test/Examware. Sometimes redoing a question on the test leaves one feeling a little dumb.
