Does it matter? posted by cal on July 18, 2003 at 02:25:33: Cal, There really is no correct answer for your question. One's ability to get a patent attorney job depends on numerous factors, such as, for example, the size and location of the law firm, your scientific credentials, your law school and grades, work history, personality, etc... As far as my firm goes, unless you have outstanding scientific credentials (e.g., EE, Phd. in biotech, etc...), you most likely would not get an interview coming from a 4th tier law school. That's not to say that all IP law firms have the same snobbish attitude when it comes to hiring, but the reality of the situation is that you would probably have a tough time trying to find a job, especially in light of our current economic atmosphere. Having said all of the above, do what you're going to do and stop worrying so much about what everyone else thinks. Peace. X. : All: : Going to Harvard/Stanford/Yale is out of the question for me. But I don't want to trap myself should I decide on going to some of the 4th tiered schools like GGU or Chapman. Let me know your opinion and thanks. Cal.
