Are these good backgrounds for a patent agent? : Yes it is a good idea to get the Pat Bar out of the way before law school. In fact, I intend to do just that before applying to law school...no, I intend to work a year or so as a pat agent so I can have the background and experience leading to a patent attorney career. I'm not so sure of firms who would hire patent attorneys having no experience out the door these days.
