Dear Mr. Dawdry,
I thought I gave a direct reply befor but looks like I only replied to someone else. Ideas are not patentable. They may be protectable. Secrecy is important to save your rights. If you disclose or use an invention before the first patent application is file, all VALID international rights may be destroyed.
