Dear Stacy Collins,
If you have made a discovery that is new, useful and unobvious you may be able to get a patent.
I you are copying from a copyrighted source, there may be a copyright infringement. Just using or creating the same recipe without copying ought not be a problem inless here is a basic patent involved. From what you say it doesn't look like a problem but it is not very clear what you have in mind.
