Patent counsel/attorney[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Patent Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Allyson M Bissing on April 05, 2003 at 00:33:06: Hi. I am a PhD in biotech with a MS in environmental engineering and have an interest in pursuing law school to become a patent attorney. However, after going through so many years of school, I REALLY don't want to take on more student loans. Are there law firms that will hire someone like me for scientific counsel and pay tuition for law school? If so, any advise about how I would go about finding one? I don't have experience with patent law and have only dealt with IP issues when working within R&D for a small upstart company. But, I have very broad experience from biodefense (microbiology/molecular biology) to water treatment (engineering and microbiology) with some consulting mixed in. I'd appreciate any advise! Thanks, ally
