You should follow the other patent applications you've seen, since that is how they are done. It would also probably help you to look at the MPEP, which describes in vivid detail what needs to go into your patent application.

: Okay, I need advice. I am writing up a patent and I need to know if I should include in my patent application the description of the invention plus the operation description seperately. I have noticed that in the majority of the patent applications I look at, that they combine both the description and operation description in the same section under description. In fact the name "operation" is never mentioned but instead implied.
