Suppose Thomas Edison had NOT patented the light, bulb, but was obviously the inventor by having reduced it to practice. Then later other people created different variations on the light bulb. For example a black light etc.
Now suppose 10 years later that Thomas Edison invented a super light bulb that was able to recieve radio waves and thus perform a duel purpose as a radio and light bulb.
Question: If he decided to file a patent on the RadioLight Bulb, in his patent application, could he refer to his original invention of the light bulb as prior art?
