Have Fun,
Thank you for the comments! My technical skills are somewhat stronger in mechanical, but most of my designs have been for electromechanical devices involving motion control. I have detailed designs in both the mechanical and electronics areas in production, including power op amp and microprocessor systems. Is there a specific area of PTO where this background fits? Is a push for a spot in the M.E. section most appropriate?

Do you know how the hiring process at PTO works? Are there interviews? I have not been able to get much info on this yet.

Thanks again.
-John

: Hello,
: Do you want to be an examiner on mechanical or electrical cases?
: I suspect most electrical cases will be too much of a reach for you. 10 grad courses in ee does not give you much knowledge in ee. In short, I believe you will be "lunched" in ee cases.

: Now before you get too upset, I just shed light into how ANY hiring manager will view your credentials (I have hired dozens of engineers, technicians etc.).

: If you focus on mechanical cases, where your core knowledge appears to be, then you may have an argument. If you told me, as a hiring manager, you saw both EE and ME as equal areas for you to work in, I would simply move to the next candidate.

: Many of my prosecution associates and I regularly prevail over examiners merely on finer engineering points. This is a skill you must have regardof which side of the fence you are working on.
