: I have come up with an idea to use existing technology from the high tech sector and use it in a relatively low tech manner. Although the market I intend to enter is relatively large utilizing different methods to achieve the same goal, non of the existing companies use this particular method, which has several advantages. Can I "patent" the use of an existing technology to be used in a new and very specific way?

Dear Kelly Murphy,
If what you have is new, useful and unbovious, it is likely patentable.

You may have to be concerned with whether or not, what you do is "patent infingement". Even if you have a patent, that does not protect you against being an infringer of an existing patent.

That is why we have a Reality Check®.
