: I don't know if I am related to Anthony or not. I have many relatives that I have never met.
: I am concerned about the costs associated with retaining counsel and going through the patent process. We don't have a lot of money right now, I have been out of work for several months. What would be a reasonable expectancy concerning costs?

: : : I need help. I have developed a process/methodology for testing and performing quality assurance on computer systems. My methodology started out just as a methodology for testing application code, but now has been applied to computer hardware, operating systems, and just about every other computer component. I have not marketed or offered my methodology/process as a stand alone product - I have developed it during my many years of woring in the field.
: : : I now feel that it is time for me to protect my intellectual property because a comsulting company is interested in selling it as a product.
: : : How do I go about protecting what has taken me 17 years to develop?

Dear Mr. Apicella,
Patents are expensive. Scam operations charge about what legitimate patent lawyers charge. Just getting a patent does not assure the patent proection that you need. Even GOOD patents may not make money.

I still fret that one of the best patents I have ever gotten has never been commercialized.

Anthony Apicella, made heavy printing machinery.
