I disagree with the comment by tony. My 2 cents is go to law school immediately take the patent bar while there and get a great job after. Look in US News for rankings of the best IP schools. At these schools they have curriculums that emphasize IP. So contrary to what he said you'll be offered plenty of IP classes, which in-turn will help you out job wise while allowing u to hit the ground running. I have a PharmD. and will be attending Franklin Pierce this fall. What's the job like? Well I cant answer that from personal experience. I advise u to do what I did....contact as many patent attorneys as u can. Also keep in mind what areas of IP are in demand. Biotech and EE are the hottest.
