It is not clear what has happened. If you divulge or use your invention, almost anywhere in the world, any patent that may issue is invalid, except in the US. In the US there is a one year period to file. You still must be the first to invent and there be no publication more than one year prior to filing that disclosed the invention. The "Patent Page" in this Forum will lead you to some free searching.
