I work for a non-profit organization. I am a co-inventor on a patent which I assigned my rights to the organization as a matter of my employment. The organization has licensed the invention to a company and it looks like there may be royalites coming to the organization because of the invention. The organization now says it cannot support my salary for more than 1/2 of this year, so I will be forced to resign. If I resign, do I give up all hope of ever receiving any part of the royalites from any of the patents I have assigned to the organization...or in my letter of resignation, should I state that this resignation does not give up any rights to royalities I would receive from patents on which I am an inventor and those royalities I would have received as a consequence of my employment? Thanks
