: I am looking to find out if I can copy right a saying on a bumper sticker for a period of time? I have a saying that I would like to put on a sign, bumper sticker, etc... and would like to know how I can keep it from being replicated by others?

Dear Mr. Krause,

The artwork can clearly be protected, the idea of the words cannot. Things can be done but the broad progection that you like is probably not available.
