I sure that this has already been discussed at least 10 times before, but I have to ask again..... I have thought up a marketable product that is of great interest to my current employer, I have briefly mentioned it to a supervisor, a day later I have the complete green light to start development. I have never signed a intellectual property agreement. However, I fear that if I use company time / resources to develop this product I will lose all rights to the device when the time comes to go independent and take the product with me. I think that I can have a working demo in less than 30 days, I'm also thinking about delaying the start date until I can create a complete working demo at home. Perhaps after I have completed the demo model the aforementioned company would like to lease / purchase the product directly from me. So the question is....if I develop the product at work, who owns it? And if I create the product on my own time, what is the best way to protect my investment when I present the device to the company? Thank you for you time. ieee802_1@hotmail.com
