The Reality Check(sm) goes into the whole scope of idea protection. There are infinite combination of what, and how things can be done. There are though, ways of searching in may instances to see if others have superior rights. The big problem is that once started down a road without proper knowledge of the risks, the cost of a mistake may be very high.
