Furthermore where can I patend my idea and how much will this cost me? Dear Chris Wilson, You can fuddle with the net and get to the USPO files on patents. I am a professional patent lawyer. I would not even do this for myself. I use a professional searcher for my clients, since I know the the searcher can find more than I can. I then analize the search, not in terms of just getting a patent but in terms of what any patent would mean to the inventor. We acutally start with a Reality Check(sm)since a patent search may even be a waste of money. There may be alternative ways of using the idea OR even if the idea is good, it may be difficult or impossible to do anything other than to spend money. There is a $100M+ a year scam industry getting people to file patent applications. Only 1 in 10,000 get back more than they pay. M.
