I would like to know what to in order for me to copyright my idea and sell it to companies that may be interested in it? I hope someone can help me on this question. thanks wendy lee Dear Wendy Lee, It is expensive to get a patent. Just getting a patent does not even mean that you get the protection that you need in order to sell an invention. There is a $100M+ a year scam getting people patents. It is one in ten thousand that make more than they pay. You need to find a Registered Patent Lawyer you can trust to go over what you have. The invention must be kept secret in order to protect your rights. Disclosure to a lawyer is all right. A patent is the usual way to go but there may be other solutions.
