a petition examiner at the PTO has offered the
following:

1) Certificate of correction is incorrect vehicle.
2) Supplemental Dec under MPEP 603.01 is OK, BUT:
No guarentee it gets into the file, but you
have the return post card anyway.
3) Reissue is best course of action.

My thoughts: Option #2 is free under
37CFR1.67 (no fee specified). After filing
supp dec, wait 2-3 months and order file wrapper
($150) to make sure dec got into file.

Go the reissue route and the patent could be lost.
BUT, IF it is reissued, it is all that more
stronger!
