: What is the difference between copyright and patent, What is the process of obtaining a patent and how long it last. What is the complexity of being granted a patent versus simplicity of obtaining copyright

Dear Mr. Singh,
A copyright only protects a mode of expression, a patent protects an embodiment of a concept. In the US copyrights are good for life plus 20 years. Patents are good for 20 years from the date of filing.

Patents are expensive, slow and complex. Copyrights are a "rubber stamp".

It is easy to get a patent. It is not easy to get a "good" patent. We start with a Reality Check™ to save time, money and worry. There is a $100M+ a year scam getting inventors to file patent applications and even getting patents. Only 1 in 10,000 get back more than they pay.
