Whilst on holiday i come across a piece of very useful mountaineering equipment. It is patented in America, but is not available in the UK nor has a UK patent been sought. There is a market for such a product in Europe. What options are open? : Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Manufacture outside of the US and sell outside of th US under a trademark. Your are open to free competition. The trademark can preserved the market and it lasts forever if properly nurtered.
