: I currently have a masters in chemistry and the opportunity to be placed in a patent agent trainee program at my work. If selected for this position offered in our legal dept., I would be given two years training in chemical/biotech patents under the guidance of a company attorney. After the training they require passing the patent bar exam. What is the demand in this field, with my background, once I pass the patent bar? Also, what type of general salary range could I expect if I were to leave the company and seek a patent agent position elsewhere?
