Dear Mr. Hall, It is my understanding that it is as difficult to get an agent as it is to get a publisher to read a manusccript. Even a copyright does not protect an idea or a theme. For instance, it is my belief that if Shakespeare had a current valid copyright, that West Side story would not have been an infringment. I have a very close friend who writes interesting books, that are not stories. He told me that he got his first book published, over the transom. He had the name of the editor and sent the book direct to the editor, ready to be printed with illustration. He remarked that the editor, was amazed that the book was taken first shot, first book. That is like winning the lottery. The alternative is to publish youself. There are scam publishers that will encourage you to publish so you have to watch out. If you can price the publication and binding and get a reaonable price, then you might canvas book stores to see what it takes to get them to by. The big ones may not want to bother with small new books from an unknown source. It's a cold cruel world out there. M. Arthur Auslander Auslander & Thomas-Intellectual Property Law Since 1909
