There a scams which make $100,000,000 a year inducing people to file patent applications.
Even legitimate patent lawyers may file applications which result in patents which are not enforceable. There is not much liklihood of either the scam or the lawyer taking your idea.
Ideas in themselves are not protectable. Patensts are not inexpensive to get.

I conduct a "Reality Check" for which I charge but I will gove over the problem with you to see if the "Reality Check" is proper without a charge.
