I have an idea for an invention, well it's actually an improvement of an existing piece of equipment and I would like to file a paten for it. I haven't the first idea of how to go about it. I live in oxnard, california Dear Mr. Flores, Living in California makes no difference. Patents are national and can be handled anywhere. It can be an expensive waste of money, time and worry just to file a patent application. There are scam organizations that make $100M+ a year getting inventors to file patent appllication. One in ten thousand get back more than they pay. Even if no patent is available there may be things that can be done. We start with a Reality Check (sm) to save time money and worry. M.
