Arthur Auslander on June 07, 2001 at 04:34:21: Your poetry is protected by copyright law once it is created. But registering your poem gets you additional federal protection, and it's well worth it. You can register a copyright in your poem by submitting a form FL106 and $30 in the U.S. Copyright Office. Check out http://www.loc.gov/copyright/reg.html and http://www.loc.gov/copyright/fls/fl106.pdf for some answers. The term of the protection will last for your life plus 50 years. The 100-year term applies to pseudonymous works.
