Dear Alexandra,
You can go through the trouble of patenting and have just as much difficulty. If you have to up money up front to a company or agent for the selling of a patent or an idea one must be extremely careful that you are not involved with a scam.

The Scam artist get paid dearly in advance with great promises of promotion. One in ten thousand get back more than they pay.
