I've heard there is a new law allowing patents of novel business systems- could this be applicable? And where can I find the text of this law? : Michelle Dear Michelle Massaro, I usually resent the know-it-all of doctors. I basically don't trust them. Well I believe that patent law, at least as to the writing and prosecuting patent applications, is very inscrutable (sp?). You can get the law by going to the Patent Page of this Forum. If you want to do something practical you have to find a Registered Patent lawyer you can trust. The patent office is the only Federal body that a lawyer in good standing cannot practice before without passing a special exam. It has been my own personal exeprience and current observations that just passing that is still takes several years of practice after even passing the exam and getting admitted to be able to write a GOOD patent application. Good luck to you on the law. The law is moving so fast that I would not personally touch a biochemical application. M. Arthur Auslander
