: : I have an idea for a excellent invention. I think its just a matter of time before something like this is around. I would like to know if I could patened my idea, how, where, and how much it would cost to do this.
: : thank you
: You can spend a fortune and get a patent on a good invention and not make a buck. It is easier to spend a fortune on a loser idea and not make a buck. I can't guarantee that you can make money but I can clear away many pitfalls.
: It can be tough. I once had a client with a very good looking invention on an electric motor. The patent search dug up the identical invention patented in 1869. I was shocked too.
: I do a Reality Check before even doing a patent search. Patents are expensive. There is a $100M a year scam out there getting patents and promising to promote. Raymond Lee had 30,000 clients only three of whom made money then he did, before he was put out of business by the FTC.
: The Reality Check goes into what you have, what you can do with it, what you can do yourself, how you can promote without paying anyone. I don't even recommend a patent search even if I believe I can get a patent for you if it does not look as the invention is patentable or if realization looks difficult or impossible.
