Dear Doug Smith,

The first step is getting a Reality Check (sm). Not every good idea is patentable and not every patent gives the protection that you need.

There is a $100M+ a year scam of companies that induce the unwary to spend on patents. Even patents obtained through registered patent lawyers may not give the protection that the inventor needs.
