: FA: Landis on Mechanics of Claim Drafting at eBay: Don't waste your money unless you are a practicing patent lawyer. It took me years after passing the patent bar to learn how to draft a good patent claim. The book can only be a professional tool. You need practice to get the feel of a good claim. Just getting a claim allowed does not guarantee anything. The book looks like a good tool for the patent lawyer. It looks like a fools paradise for a layman. It is not because I make a living as a patent lawyer that I inveigh against this book. It is because there is a fools paradise out there. Just getting a patent doesn't mean that you get the protection that you need. Even if you get a good patent, you may not be able to sell your invention or worse cannot afford to sue the infringer. There is a $100M+ a year scam getting inventors to file patent applications out there. Only 1 in 10K make more than they pay. M. Arthur Auslander
