: : how to patent an idea. Just a general lowdown would be good. Please RSVP. Can it be done over the net or do I have to go somewhere.
: : Well my head is brimming with ideas so I await your speedy response.

: : Many Thanks

: Information may be found on the net. You can even click on the Patent Page of this forum and get direct information from and about the Patent Office. While the law allows you do deal directly with the PTO it is almost imposssible for anyone without prefessional experience to get a patent or better still to get on of any value. It may be possible to patent what you have in mind but, what do you want? Do you want to spend for a patent or do you want to make money?
: Not every good idea is patentable and not every patent is going to make money.
: The first thing is to keep the details secret, lest you destroy all valid foreign rights.
: What I recommend to all my clients first is a "Realilty Check". It includes whether you may be able to patent at all, if you can what are your chances of making money. Patents are usually easy to obtain, making money with them is another thing.
: Where a patent does not seem wise, the "Reality Check" goes into inexpensive alternatives, It also shows you how to promote free without having to pay a percentage to scam artist.
: It took 25 years to put Raymond Lee out of business. He had 30000 clients, only three made more money than he did.
