: Those in the patent law field please shed some light on exactly how much life you could have as a patent attorney or agent? : Recently got my Ph.D. in Biochemistry and am investigating patent law as a career alternative. How likely will a Ph.D. without any : patent work experience but who passes the patent bar exam find an entry level position in patent prosecution in a law firm? How much do these : starting patent agents typically make? I guess it's inversly proportionaly to how much life they (like to, if there's this choice at all) have? : Thanks for any info! : Celera : PS: any recommendation for inexpensive patent bar prep material? We are not in the market for you talent. What you say look particually good with the patent bar. Just call as many IP and even big firms that are swallowing IP lawyers. There may even be a shortage.
