A successful candidate will:
Perform searches relating to patentability, state-of-the-art, validity, and infringement.
Draft clear written reports related to patentability of technical subject matter.
Effectively search commercial patent databases that disclose relevant technical information.
Adhere closely to assigned deadlines and work closely with coworkers to meet customer needs.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Previous patent examining or patent searching experience strongly preferred but not required; training is provided for exceptional technical candidates
In-depth knowledge of technical literature in the area of subject matter expertise
Highly skilled in developing search methodologies and in conducting searches
Strong time management skills and dependability in completing high quality projects against deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in an independent setting
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in one of the following areas:
Business Methods Electronic commerce, financial transactions, electronic gaming, health care management, etc.
Life Sciences Surgery and medical devices, medical instrumentation, diagnostic equipment, medical imaging equipment, implantable devices, prosthetics, etc.
Mechanical Transportation, construction, manufacturing, static structures, dynamic machines, packaging, etc.
Computer and Information Sciences Computer architecture, software, data processing, network architecture and communication, IT security, audio/video editing, etc.
Electrical Communications Television, radio, telecommunications, GPS, wireless communications, electrical interface devices, optical communications, etc.
Physical Sciences Measuring and testing, radiation, optics, semiconductors, nanotechnology, magnetic devices, etc.
Biotechnology Molecular and microbiology, living organisms, biochemistry, biophysics, RNA/DNA, genetic sequencing, etc.
Chemical Organic and inorganic chemistry, chemical and materials engineering, etc.
