Techtronic Industries North America, Inc., a global leader in the power tool and outdoor products industry is searching for a Patent Agent. This position is located in Anderson, SC. This position is being created to perform initial clearance work and preparation and filing of patent applications. This position will require:
• a working knowledge of current patent law
• mechanical or electrical engineering degree preferred
• experience conducting patent searches and preparing right-to-use and patentability opinions
• preparing and successfully prosecuting patent applications is required
• 2-4 years of experience is required, law firm experience is preferred This position works with in-house patent counsel and reports directly to the Global Director of Intellectual Property. This position is a liaison between in-house engineering and marketing teams, global subsidiaries and parent company, in-house patent counsel and outside counsel. Primary roles include:
• Assisting employees with documentation of inventions and requests for IP services
• Conducting Patent and Searches
• Preparing and filing Patent Applications
• Coordinating with outside counsel
