||Innovative, creative company in greater Los Angeles area is looking for an experienced leader to head their new Licensing Compliance Department. The Vice President of Licensing Compliance oversees all IP compliance-related matters for the firm, including identification of infringements and unauthorized uses by third parties of the Company's IP assets and will provide direction and support in connection with the assertion of the Companys IP rights.|
The VP of Licensing Compliance will report to the CEO and work closely with the Company's General Counsel, outside law firms, and other senior executives at the Company. The ideal candidate for this position is highly detail-oriented, is both a team player and a leader, and has at least 8-10 years experience heading compliance teams and/or significant projects. Certifications (such as a CPA) or other experience evidencing a fastidious attention to detail is a must.

Understand the Company IP-related contract terms and have fundamental understanding of copyright laws
Ability to provide litigation support, assistance and guidance to attorneys and the Company Manager of Claims Support
An understanding of technology, including an ability to interpret reports and metadata, including Internet architecture such as inline-linking.
Computer software, including extensive Internet knowledge and competence with email, spreadsheet, word processing, and database applications.
Knowledge/experience of photography, imaging/ graphic design and/or IP compliance and enforcement are major pluses.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum 8-10 years experience in a process audit or other compliance-related field, preferably in the IP-related area.
A combination of formal training and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
An understanding of technology, including an ability to interpret reports and metadata, including internet architecture such as inline-linking.
A four-year college degree is required. Other experience, education or certifications such as CPA, or advanced degrees evidencing experience and training that demonstrates a fastidious regard for attention to detail is required.
