Job Description: Our client, a Global Pharmaceutical Company, is seeking a Senior Counsel to work in its New Jersey headquarters. The successful candidate will provide a full range of patent support functions, including patent preparation and prosecution, freedom –to-operate analysis, rendering opinions, managing outside counsel, drafting and negotiating license and research collaboration agreements, due diligence support for business development and client counseling, as his or her background permits. Applicant will regularly make presentations and interact with the business with regard to patent and contractual matters.

Candidates must have an undergraduate or advanced degree in a biochemical/molecular biology field. The ability to additionally support small molecule products or small molecule prosecution is preferred. Demonstrated competencies in the pharmaceutical or biologic arts is strongly preferred. The successful applicant must have experience in the rendering of patentability and non-infringement opinions. Experience in due diligence activities is required and experience in license drafting and negotiation is a plus. Must have a JD and admission to the USPTO. The successful applicant will have at least 5 years of law firm or corporate law department experience. Salary commensurate with experience. Bonus eligible position.
