Job Description: |
Prepare and file patent applications, with a primary focus on the protection of medicinal chemistry inventions and patent prosecution. Maintain prosecution docket of U.S. and foreign patent applications, with interference and opposition practice as it arises with prosecution. Develop expertise in one or more specific areas of Company technology and provide counsel on patent law issues to research chemists and other areas of the business. Position will also involve opinion work, infringement and validity analysis and licensing support. Requirements include an advanced degree in chemistry or biochemistry, with a Ph.D. preferred; 7 to 15 years experience as a patent attorney primarily engaged in patent prosecution and client counseling, either in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech corporate setting or in a law firm; USPTO registration; and at least one state bar.
