Patent Attorneys provide all basic aspects of patent drafting and prosecution service to assigned AZ client areas and will also handle general aspects of patent work in collaboration with Senior/Principal Patent Attorneys. They will be accountable for developing and implementing project specific patent strategies for their assigned clients.

Major Responsibilities:
• Act as an attorney of record for US prosecution.
• Independently draft and prosecute a patent portfolio relating to an assigned client area.
• Provide strategic patent advice to the assigned clients reflecting RA/TA objectives, and identify patent opportunities and risks.
• Communicate effectively with R&D clients on patent matters.
• Work optimally and efficiently with Senior or Principal Attorneys on patent matters.
• Operate within global AZ IP teams to improve AZ IP operational or strategic IP issues.
• Work on diligence activities in support of SPBD opportunities.
• Represent IP and present project IP strategies to R&D project teams.

Qualifications

• JD+patent bar qualifications.
• Good scientific knowledge of core technical field, together with an appreciation of other relevant technologies.
• Good understanding of the AZ business.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able quickly to adapt to a dynamic environment.
