Smaller, well-capitalized pharmaceutical company with marketed product seeks to add second patent attorney to its department. Will report directly to Chief Patent Counsel. Position will consist of 60% preparation and prosecution, and 40% due diligence for acquisitions, licensing, and other deal opportunities. Deals are negotiated and drafted by corporate (not patent) counsel, so this position's role in acquisitions is the due diligence and brain storming. The portfolio consists of primarily small molecule pharmaceuticals, with a smaller amount of biotech and medical device technology. IP portfolio consists of small molecule and biotechnology pharmaceuticals, plus a bit of medical device. Requirements:
Candidate must have JD, admission to practice before the USPTO, and 4-9 years of small molecule or biotechnology pharmaceutical patent experience. Must have willingness to work on both small molecule and biotechnology patents. Experience with due diligence is a plus but not required.
