Hi all

I want to protect a name for a unique 3d character that I have designed to be in an upcoming video game, however, im not sure what i should utilize in order to protect it, how can one protect a unique name?  Huh

should i go and copyright the character design himself? am i able to do that? or maybe, write a script of the game and copyright that?
My main goal is to keep other people from utilizing the name.

I was leaning in the direction of a trademark
but if i can get a less expensive route, ill take it Tongue

thanks in advance

For the name Trademark is the solution.

If there is an artistic representation you may have a copyright in the same, which is cheapest protection and automatically subsists with you in your capacity as an author of the work.

But the trademark is better protection and gives you better enforcement of your right
