Video Game Concept based on existant property

I have two game concepts including work on look, feel, etc. that are based on two movies for which this kind of game do not exist. How do I go about protecting myself when approaching either a game's company or the owners of the properties with these concepts so I see something out of it if they are successful? Is there a form of copyright I can take on the ideas?

No, or at least not really.  If you turned your ideas into source code, then you would (or at least could) have relevant copyright protection.  But if video game programmers figured out how to accomplish the same thing, or something close enough, without using your source code, you might no longer have much of an advantage.

In short, generally, copyright law protects qualifying works of art, patents protect qualifying innovations in product functionality.
