Hello All -

Thank you all for this forum - it's a big help!  I just want to make sure I understand everything I've read so far about expired patents...

1)   If a patent has expired due to age, then you don't have to be concerned about infringing it.

2)  No one can renew a patent after it has expired due to age, nor can anyone "repatent" the item, or even patent an item which is too similar to the original.

So to sum up, once something is patented and it's patent dies of old age, it becomes public domain; something no one can ever lay sole claim to again.

Do I have my facts straight?
