Title: Designer Patents on Garments
Post by tigerbo88 on Feb 19th, 2006, 7:58pm
I sit for hours taking fabric and, design outfits for my barbies but the designs can easily be created for  the general public. My mom photgraghs all my outfits which I keep in a 3 ring notebook. As far as the patent and copyright issue goes. From what I've read online there is no real way to patent my garment designs but I can copyright the photos we took.

Is  is there any real legal way for me to protect my ideals?
I've seen on TV where this guy had made Barbie clothes in his spare time and entered some type of contest and won $1,000 for his ideal. And he also went to some type of lawyer where nobody could steal any of his designs on the Fashion channel on Dishnetwork a few weeks ago. What can I legally do to protect my designs?
