What does "bases" and "therof"

Huh

What does the word "bases" mean?  I am a chemist and so I know what bases vs acids means to me.  I also understand the word "basis".  So what does there is "bases for rejection" mean?  I cannot find it in the dictionary.  Also what does "therof" mean?  I understand these terms not to be misspellings...  I am vocabularily challenged by these supposed patent terms.  THanks for the clarification.

I wouldn't go so far to call either a "patent term."

I'm not sure why you couldn't find it in a dictionary.  From m-w.com,

Main Entry: ba·sis
Pronunciation: 'bA-s&s
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural ba·ses /-"sEz/

Main Entry: there·of
Pronunciation: [th]er-'&v, -'äv
Function: adverb
1 : of that or it
2 : from that cause or particular : THEREFROM

Thanks for the fast reply but the words are spelled "bases" (with an E) and "therof" without an E.  So I am not sure that your definitions are appropriate.

Reread what I posted.  "Bases" is plural of "basis." "Therof" is a mispelling of "thereof."
