Request for a customer number

Hello,
Does anyone do this?  What are the benefits to a customer number?   It seems like you have the same access regardless if you have the power of attorney active.   At any rate, I have been trying to fax in my request for the past couple weekdays, and no number gets faxed back.  Not sure what is going on.

One benefit is that it is easier to manage adding a new practitioner or two to a boat load of applications using the customer number.

I think it's also easier for a change of address.  I think you just file once for all cases.

But, the biggest advantage I see is access to EFS-web and private PAIR.  Those are both very cool things.

Regards.
