Hello: I am writing this patent application and I have a piece that moves up and down on this cable. I am describing the peice that moves up and down as "slidingly interacting" with the cable, as opposed to frictionally. Does anyone see any problems with this?

| Is the piece interacting with the cable in any way other than sliding up an down along it? Unless you've defined interact to mean something you plan to expand on in a dependent claim, it seems likely that interact isn't the right word.

that is all it does. it slides up and down and cable. Think of it as a cyclindrical tube. Probably touches from time to time. I am not sure what you mean by "interact." It interacts with the cable by virtue of being placed around it. I do not plan on expanding on this, as the machine would not work without it being this way.

Interacting kind of suggests more than physical contact. That is, when physical contact occurs, something happens as a result of that physical interaction. If all you mean to imply is that physical contact occurs now and then, then just say that. You can of course be a little more creative than what I just said but I am sure you get my point, assuming that is indeed what you are trying to communicate.
