Title: Part-time law: part-time job?
Post by BSEE on Dec 21st, 2007, 9:16am
As a 0L, I'm considering a few schools with part-time programs, and I would like to work but given the uncertainty of law school, I would want to play it safe and try and find a job with flexible work hours.

I'm an EE with some engineering experience and I'd be looking for either a job with a firm, or maybe the USPTO if I go to a law school in DC.

Does anyone know of any positions that would have flexible work hours within intellectual property?

I know a few firms in DC have student associate programs - Sterne Kessler is one, Finnegan Henderson might be another. These programs would require you to do the law program at night though - it's not really part time.

Can you tell me more about these student associate positions? What type of hours would be required, how good is the pay, would I be allowed to take time off before finals, etc?
