Title: Pharm. D. and Patent Law
Post by Dmitry Kunin on Jun 4th, 2007, 3:47pm
I am currently a sixth year student at St. Louis College of Pharmacy and will be conferring a PharmD in May 2008.  I am very interested in getting into pharmaceutical patent law (and even biomedical areas, too) but am not sure where to go from here.  I have taken the LSAT and am ready to apply for Law Schools, but am not sure yet as to whether I want to do that yet.  I have plenty of loans piled up from an expensive six year education, so starting to pay them off would not be that bad.  Also, I am wondering whether it would be better for me to pursue the patent bar exam now, and try to find a job as a "specialist" with a firm (is this even possible in my shoes?)?  ???  Please let me know where to go from here as it will help me a lot.  Thank you in advance.

Go with a career in pharmacy.  My wife is a pharmacist and I'm a patent attorney.  She makes basically what I make and she has a better life style.
